Buildup of American Forces in Persian Gulf a New Signal of Worsening US-Iran Conflict

Thousands of Marines backed by advanced U.S. fighter jets and warships are slowly building up a presence in the Persian Gulf. It’s a sign that while America’s wars in the region may be finished, its conflict with Iran over its advancing nuclear program continues to worsen, with no solutions in sight.

‘Moscow Hit By Ukrainian Drones’

Ukraine warned Russia on Tuesday to expect further drone strikes after the mayor of Moscow said a skyscraper had been attacked for the second time in two days.

West Africa suffered 1,800 terror attacks in first half of 2023

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has told the UN Security Council that, in the first half of this year alone, West Africa suffered more than 1,800 terror attacks which killed 4,593 people, the Associated Press reports.

Biden says Israel-Saudi Arabia normalization deal may be underway

US President Joe Biden announced last week that a normalization agreement between Israel and long-term official enemy Saudi Arabia may be forthcoming, the Jerusalem Post reports. Such a deal would follow the Abraham Accord normalization deals brokered by the Trump administration between Israel and Morocco, Sudan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

“Cancerous” Israel must be removed from Middle East, Hezbollah leader says

Doubling down on past virulently anti-semitic statements, the leader of the Lebanese Iran-backed Hezbollah terror organization said at the weekend that the Middle East will work tirelessly until the “cancerous gland” that is Israel has been removed from the region, the Jerusalem Post reports.

High living costs have caused significant downturn in US charitable giving

A new survey released Friday shows that the rising cost of living over the last three years has caused many Americans to either give less to charity or to cease giving altogether, the Washington Times reports. Polling 4,928 US adults in May, the survey was conducted by the consumer research company Collage Group.

Abducted US Christian nurse and daughter still captives in Haiti

The US State Department has stated it is working to secure the release of an American Christian nurse and her daughter who were kidnapped in Haiti last week, but declined to give any information on who the abductors might be or whether they have made any ransom demands, USA Today reports. Poverty and disaster-stricken Haiti has long been plagued by extreme gang violence and political instability.
