Today we glean from the life of David, his struggles with enemies, including the struggle with his son, Absalom. How he was proved in so many ways in his life, and learned to resist his pride, eventually coming to prophesy.

Today’s Psalm talks about making and breaking vows, and the seriousness of making a commitment and keeping your word, and advises us to not make rash decisions, but thoughtful ones.
